$5,000.00 Reward Offered
A single REWARD of $5,000.00 is being offered for information leading to the "APPREHENSION and CONVICTION” of the person(s) shooting rock cliffs from the Oregon State Beach with intent of fracturing cliffs to trigger large rock falls on to the beach damaging State and private properties. Shootings are occurring approximately 1/2 mile north of (USFS) Ocean Beach Picnic Area's beach access at Hwy 101 Milepost 173.9 between Florence and Yachats. Approximate dates of past shootings are 12/8/10 (right side), 4/7/12 (left side) and 4/26/12 (middle). The picture above was taken after the two recent falls in April 2012 showing all three falls. The picture below was taken after the initial fall in December 2010, which was the right side only.
The North side of the Nancy Creek bank has also suffered falls from past shootings. The Oregon State Police and the Oregon Parks and Recreation Department have been contacted. Ads have been placed in local newspapers in an attempt to stop further malicious vandalism and destruction of properties. | ||||
